Alison Wright
Alison Wright, a celebrated documentary photographer and author, dedicated her life to documenting endangered cultures and human issues globally. She received numerous Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Awards and a Dorothea Lange Fellowship in Documentary Photography from UC Berkeley. In 2000, a near-fatal accident in Laos became a poignant chapter in her memoir, "Learning to Breathe." She held degrees from Syracuse University and UC Berkeley, fostering her unique perspective. Tragically, in March 2022, while diving in the Azores, she suffered a cardiac episode, passing away on March 23, 2022. Alison Wright's legacy lives on through her impactful photography and storytelling, inspiring generations.
